Manufacturing Mania offers hundreds of middle school students the chance to learn about career opportunities offered in today’s advanced manufacturing and engineering industries. Kicking off Manufacturing Month each October in the state, this program includes exhibits and displays from Connecticut manufacturers, a first-hand look at Goodwin’s Advanced Manufacturing Center, innovative demonstrations, hands-on activities, competitions, giveaways, and guest speakers.

At the Girls & Manufacturing Summit, middle and high school girls come together to learn more about career and educational pathways in manufacturing. The Summit features experiential activities that showcase today’s manufacturing workplace, and opportunities to hear from women practitioners about 21st-century manufacturing careers and the high-tech skills needed to be successful.
Sparking interest in future careers among girls is a number one priority to assure that manufacturers can attract, retain and advance women in skilled positions.

Hundreds of middle and high school students throughout the Greater Waterbury area attend the STEM/Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Expo to directly engage with local manufacturers and learn about job and career opportunities from area leaders in manufacturing. This Expo is free for students, parents, teachers and organized by the Waterbury Chamber of Commerce with support from the Waterbury Board of Education,

ACM’s Aerospace Industry Future Workforce Opportunities Fair 2020
SAVE THE DATE! November 18, 2020 at the Connecticut Convention Center
In 2019, ACM partnered with Connecticut. Dream It. Do It. to add interactive stations to engage students and raise awareness about manufacturing. Over 1,000 middle school, high school and college students participated from over 30 schools!
The goal of the Future Workforce Opportunities Fair is to make middle school, high school, college students and their teachers, guidance counselors, parents, and communities aware of the broad opportunities and well-paying careers available in the local aerospace industry. Those attending have the opportunity to speak with over 90 local aerospace firms to learn about the valuable career opportunities that exist in the industry and discuss the expectations employers have when hiring new employees.
Aerospace Components Manufacturers (ACM Inc.) formed in 1999 as a non-profit in support of the small to medium-sized suppliers in CT’s aerospace industry and has since expanded to Southwestern MA to form the Aerospace Cluster. ACM membership exceeds 115 companies supporting over 9,000 employees and offers their customers a world-class manufacturing capability and lead in competitive cost, innovation and customer responsiveness. The economic challenges of the aerospace industry brought our member companies together, forming the Cluster, in an effort to retain existing business and capture new business.

We welcome your school or educational organization to join us again at the ACM Aerospace Industry Future Workforce Opportunities Fair. There is no cost for schools to participate! ACM will also provide parking free for school buses at the Convention Center.
